9th February 2010 - Emma's Story released on DVD:
Every school in West Sussex has received a copy of a DVD featuring ContactPoint for use in PSHE lessons or assembly.
The film, which was written, acted and produced by young people at Rose Green and Pagham Youth Clubs, is entitled Emma's Story.
The young people tell the story of Emma, a young carer, who finds she is falling behind at school and unable to keep up with the daily demands of caring for her ill mother and young brother.
However, help is at hand when her form teacher alerts an Educational Welfare Officer, who uses ContactPoint to make contact with her former social worker. The practitioners then work together to put a care plan in place to support the family.
The film is introduced by news clips on Victoria Climbie, whose tragic death led to the call for the creation of a children's database by Lord Laming following an inquiry into the eight-year-old's murder.
The DVD also features the soundtrack 'Who Cares?', written and recorded by director of the film 19-year-old Jordan Phillips.

Ambleton Delight: A small Sussex village called Ambleton is rocked by a government proposal for a bypass, a concept rejected by the popular town mayor, but embraced by a talented restaurateur and chef who is battling his past as well as the village's concept of change.
